Australian Contemporary is an Australian owned business based in Melbourne, Australia. We sell original artwork from specialised artists.
All artworks sold on our website are Original handmade Art Glass made in Australia.
Please choose carefully when purchasing your artwork from our online gallery as all sales are final. Small bubbles in the glass are part of the handmade process and cannot be considered imperfections.
Freight: Works will be freighted when paid in full and funds have cleared in our account. You will be sent notification when the work is ready to be sent so that you can track your purchase online. (See additional shipping information below)
Refunds will only be given if the work arrives broken or seriously damaged. We endeavour to take all care when packing and securely freighting your purchases using local and sensitive freight carriers for Australia. We use DHL for most international destinations. All artworks are insured for the purchase price from door to door. If the packaging appears damaged please take a photo of the damage and do not sign any paperwork to say it arrived safely. Open in front of the freight agent. If the work appears damaged please photograph any damage to the artwork. Retain all packaging material and email the gallery so that we can ascertain the situation and contact our insurance agency. We will endeavour to find the best solution possible in a timely manner.
All artwork received needs to be opened as soon as possible to ensure that the work is safe and to avoid voiding any insurance claims.

ADDITIONAL SHIPPING INFORMATION
The cost of shipping includes all handling and packing, insurance and postage costs. All artworks shipped by Australian Contemporary are insured from door to door. The total shipping cost varies according to the value, destination, weight and dimensions. We will always seek to minimise the shipping costs whilst seeking to ensure the artworks reach you undamaged.
Art glass requires specialist packaging and in some cases crates need to be purpose built for large artworks. This may delay shipping times but we will contact you by telephone or email to discuss any delays. When ready to send we will email you all tracking details.
Works are usually freighted within 5 days or earlier when paid in full and payments are cleared in our account. If a specialised crate is required delivery may take up to three weeks to arrive at some remote Australian destinations. Within Australia we use local carriers. The service we use depends on the size and fragility of the artwork.
Australian Contemporary freights to most International destinations. Please contact the gallery to organise a quote. All prices on our website are in AUD. The Australian dollar value varies daily against international currencies. We calculate the exchange rate on the day of payment.
Most International freight will be shipped using DHL. Shipments via DHL are trackable and require a signature upon delivery. Small, light parcels are shipped via Australia Post.
When work is freighted to International destinations the GST (Goods and Services Tax )is removed. Customs charges vary from country to country and Australian Contemporary has no control over this. All charges by customs are not the responsibility of the gallery and must be paid by the client to the customs agent in your country.
Below are approximate transit times only. Timing depends on the proximity of the artist to an Australian Capital City, packing and clearance rates through customs in your country. We will contact you should any delays occur.
Australia using local carriers 5-10 days to most capital cities. This could be longer depending on your location and packaging requirements.
USA, Europe, Asia, Middle East 7-10 days to most capital cities depending on packaging requirements.
