Susie Barnes creates stunning contemporary jewellery combining her flame formed glass beads with everyday materials.
Susie completed a four year graduate diploma at the school of Colour and Design and went on to complete a Visual Arts Degree majoring in glass at The Sydney College of The Arts.
Over the course of the last five years she has shifted her focus to making unique items of jewellery which combine glass with a range of everyday materials such as rubber, buttons and precious metals and stones. Her work has been exhibited extensively in Australia and at SOFA Chicago. Works have been much sought after and acquired by glass lovers and collectors both nationally and internationally.
‘My work is spontaneous, often whimsical and always visual. I approach each piece as a canvas for self expression, producing works both innovative and distinctly contemporary.’
